Puoliuni Publishing is a Helsinki-based micropublishing house focused on queer literature. The publishing house works inside of Puoliuni Co-op founded in 2019.
We are interested in publishing all kinds of texts of different genres. Our goal is to publish unique works of literature that swim against the mainstream, question hetero and cis normativity, and center queer and trans voices.
We are constantly looking for new book ideas and publish all kinds of fiction, from short story collections to poems, essays, and novels. Your manuscript can be a collection of short stories, essays, poems, or a longer novel, or other experimental fiction. We will more than gladly help if you are looking for a publisher for your Finnish translation. We are currently only interested in publishing in Finnish.

Puoliuni Publishing is now an Apartheid Free Zone (AFZ). We are committed to the boycotts of the international BDS movement and support the Palestinian struggle for human rights, equality and freedom.
Declaring ourselves an Apartheid Free Zone allows us to take new steps towards our values. We want to play an active role in reducing racism, discrimination and oppression in the world. We do not want to be party to actions that normalize Israel’s war crimes or the apartheid regime that maintains discrimination and oppression of Palestinians. Therefore, we will not be involved as organizers or participants in events that are supported or organized by the Israeli government, public institutions or lobby groups. We do not accept funding from such entities. We hope that this will encourage people to think more broadly about human rights and encourage others to take visible and concrete action for human rights.
By participating in the Apartheid Free Zone campaign, we support the demands of the BDS movement, which are as follows:
1) Israel ends its occupation of Palestine since 1967, which has been declared illegal by international law.
2) Israel recognises the fundamental rights of Palestinian citizens and treats them equally, and ends the apartheid system.
3) Israel recognises the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes, as stipulated in the UN resolution.
